Ekta talks to Alyssa Hardy, Author, Former Fashion News Editor for Teen Vogue & Senior News Editor for InStyle. Alyssa has a long background in Journalism and a strong love for the fashion industry. She started as an editorial assistant right out of college working for a company called “MiLady” which created the textbooks that are used all over for cosmetology schools. During her time there she realized that she had a deeper passion for fashion than for beauty and was given a great opportunity to create fashion looks for the models whose pictures would be going in the textbook they were creating during her time there. She went on to write fashion pieces for Teen Vogue and is currently a Senior News Editor for InStyle Magazine where she writes reportive pieces on fashion and essay pieces on different aspects of the industry.
She also touches upon the influx of celebrity brands on the market today, not only in fashion but in the beauty industry as well and says “As long as there’s a purpose for it and it’s not just about making money” they seem to be okay, which all consumers can agree on. Alyssa has always had a deep love for fashion, even watching fashion shows on TV growing up which has motivated her to pursue her line of work.
