This week Ekta talks to Amy Peterson, Medical Aesthetics Guru and the Founder of Skincare by Amy Peterson and The Real Skin Savant. When Peterson was in college she was in a bad car accident which resulted in a lot of scarring on her body.
She changed direction in her career after that to Aesthetics because she knew there was a lot of change and progression happening in that field. Amy has been working in this field since then, she moved to Seattle, WA with her husband who was training to be a surgeon there at the time. She was working in the non-invasion division but she also was a clinical educator, training different offices along the west coast.
She shares the importance of being a sponge when learning new techniques and new approaches. Amy also shares her immense knowledge in the area of laser treatments and what we all should be considering when approaching the realm of medical vs non medical aestheticians.
Amy breaks down the basic information around using devices such as lasers and the aspects that make a facial worth the money and commitment.
