This week Ekta talks to Cora Miller, the Co-Founder of Young King Hair Care. YKHC is a brand
that is focused on children’s hair and shaping their routines to be healthy from a young age.
Cora’s personal journey with motherhood is a big part of her inspiration for this brand and she says ‘she never thought she would be on this entrepreneurship journey’. She started working in corporate and doing community work on behalf of the company that she was employed at. When
she had her son in 2017, her perspective on what she wanted to do changed a bit. Her son was born with a full head of hair and she jokes that she wanted to be a ‘boy mom’ so she didn’t have to deal with the hair but she has to now! “I was trying to find products that were clean, plant-based, and specifically felt like they were made for a boy with textured hair and I was very surprised that there were no products created or on the market that had him in mind” (Miller). Cora talks about how representation is so important and how young children and even adults
should be able to go to the store and get what they need and see themselves in advertising and marketing. Young King Hair Care is 100% safe and clean for textured and curly hair and it has taken the hair care children’s industry by storm.
