Hailey Bieber’s Line Is No Exception To The Celebrity Skincare Cancelling Movement.
As far as we see it, there is absolutely nothing special about the new line launched by the Celebrity , Hailey Bieber, wife of world renowned singer and songwriter Justin Bieber.
Yea ok so there was this huge deal made about how she found people in science to help her create her products- but the only reason her line is succeeding , as with all celebrity lines, is the hype. Here’s why:
- Are the formulations anything exceptional? No.
- Is the line more results driven than others? No.
- Are the products geared towards a wider than average audience of skin health consumers? No.
So then why do we care?
Well I think a good place to start is how celebrities exploit the intelligence of true scientists and formulators to harness years of education and discoveries to make something they can put their name on. This is no exception to that norm.
Also, please remind me again why we are going nuts over someone who has a lot of money and could actually use those funds to further knowledge about REAL skin concerns and the biomedical research around them, rather than clutter this space even more.
Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Hailey. I actually respect that she went more out of her way than most celebs when it comes to launching and creating her collection. However, would I buy anything from her line? No.
The industry of skin health is in need of a radical transformation and an increase in awareness about not only health facts but also an understanding of WHO THE REAL GENIUSES ARE BEHIND THE PRODUCTS THAT WORK! -Scientists, Doctors, Engineers, and anyone who has taken more than BASIC SCIENCE COURSES.
I don’t know how many time I have already reiterated this exact idea but I won’t stop till I no longer see a celebrity’s face on another bottle of moisturizer or serum.
Sorry to say this about your brand Hailey but, hit the rhode.
