This week Ekta talks to Irene Forte, Founder of Irene Forte Italian Skincare, Wellness Consultant of Rocco Forte Hotels, and Advisory Board Member of the Global Wellness Summit. Although her background is in Human Resources and Learning Development, working with her family business Rocco Forte, she would soon jump at the opportunity to work with the hotel’s
spas.

“When the chance came to look after the spas for the hotel company on the side, I jumped on that opportunity. After working with the spas for a number of years, I wanted to unify the company spas because all the spa managers were using different product lines, and I wanted that to be one brand.” (Forte).

Irene wanted the Forte Hotel spas to create a cohesive brand that was organic and displayed her Italian roots with the natural resources of Sicily. So, she did her research and was set on finding the perfect partner to create her image but had the scientific knowledge to know and understand a formulation of ingredients that would soon form such innovative products.

“I decided to formulate a skincare line for the spas. One which was natural ingredients from an organic farm in Sicily, but that was really backed by science, and to do that, I had to find a fantastic doctor to help me formulate. I came across Dr. Francesca Ferri, who is from the north of Italy, and I met with a number of labs, but when I met with Dr. Ferri, I knew that she was the one.” (Forte).

What makes Irene Forte Italian Skincare stand out from other brands is not only the heart and research that Irene and her team put into the line but the quality of ingredients that put healthy skin at the center of beauty brands and promote the value of nature.

“Sicily has incredibly fertile land; it has a culture of farming. There are so many amazing fruits and vegetables and plants, especially plants that you don’t find in the rest of Italy…The reason I was so interested in Mediterranean ingredients is because it’s no secret that those ingredients are
considered the healthiest in the world and the most high-quality ingredients.” (Forte).

Irene discusses the ‘clean’ movement of the beauty industry and strives to change the idea of the simplicity of natural ingredients. She wanted to create a clean brand but understood that science is the front of an organic skincare line.

“Our spas are based in Italy, and I wanted something natural but not naïve.” (Forte).
