Jaleh Bisharat, CEO and Co-Founder of Naked Poppy, Podcast Summary
This week Ekta talks to Jaleh Bisharat, the CEO and Co-Founder of Naked Poppy. Jaleh was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2007 which was an awakening for her, as it would be for any woman. “I was feeling ripped off, I’m that person that’s always eaten organic, I always worked out, I always get eight hours of sleep, so it was a little bit of a why me? I felt like I had done everything that I could control.” (Bisharat).
Naked Poppy is a natural makeup and organic cosmetics brand that believes in healthy ingredients, cruelty-free manufacturing, minimizing environmental impact, and fair labor practices.
Jaleh talks about her journey through treatment and how she always felt like she was destined to do some good in the world. “It [Breast Cancer] did motivate me to want to do something with my life, that really helped other people, in whatever small way that I could.” (Bisharat).
