Jill Rowe, Founder of Cultivate Apothecary, Podcast Summary
This week Ekta talks to Jill Rowe, the founder of Cultivate Apothecary. Jill got her start doing all sorts of things, she’s in the restaurant industry, the art industry, the independent film industry, and now the skincare industry.
“When I moved to New York City, I was twenty. I was meeting people who were very singular in what they wanted for their lives. They were very passionate about something whether that was art, film, music, sports, restaurants, whatever it was. I was finding all these people where it was their one thing that they loved doing and they devoted all their time and energy to it, and I just wasn’t that person.” (Rowe).
Cultivate Apothecary is a botanical based organic skincare line that’s whole message revolves around creating beautiful and botanical based wellness products. “What’s important is to feel comfortable in your own skin, and doing the things that mean a lot to you, because that’s what will matter to the person on the receiving end. Whether it’s a product or a service or art, etc. That will shine through if you’re truly passionate about what you’re doing.” (Rowe). Cultivate Apothecary at Stonegate Farm (located in Hudson River Valley, New York) is open to customers on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm during the June-October months.
This brand is very close to Jill’s heart, it’s a product of her multiple passions but her desire to inspire others is at the forefront of this wonderful brand. “All of those things in the design or the product, the detail, the art of it. My life partner did the photography and a lot of the branding. There’s this idea that I have enough life behind me to know what I want and what I don’t want. I’m not trying to compete with anyone else, I just want people to experience what I have to offer.” (Rowe).
