This week Ekta talks to Kerry Benjamin, an Esthetician, and the Founder of StackedSkincare. Kerry’s journey into skincare began when she had severe eczema that required her to go into medical care. At the time, she was working in High Tech and Digital Media and did not know much about skin health. However, as she went through many medical professionals regarding her skin, and soon took matters into her own hands.

“I suffered with eczema and a series of mercer infections, one that landed me in the hospital and so after that, I realized that I needed to figure out how to heal my skin because these doctors just weren’t helping me.” (Benjamin).

As Kerry began to pursue StackedSkincare, she understood the struggles of skincare, especially from a young age, and the lack of information on her condition.

“When I was growing up…I didn’t grow up, with social media and the internet days, so it was extremely isolating, and nobody talked about stuff back then. You didn’t have these social networks that were so accessible to you, so a lot of times I was uncomfortable in my own skin”. (Benjamin).

For that reason, she wanted to have a brand that not only works for customers and provides resources for proper care for their conditions.

“A really important part of my job is to make sure that we’re empowering… whether if it’s our customers or if it’s just people who come to browse around with great information from a trusted resource.” (Benjamin)

Kerry’s struggles with skincare are the testimony that began her success, but that is only the beginning of the advancements she intends to make in skin health. She discusses the importance of brand integrity and understanding skincare tools and products to work for the customer’s benefit. Through her care and determination, StackedSkincare improves clients’ skin health and allows them to learn about their skin.

“A lot of what I do is I draw from my personal experience as well as from my experience treating thousands of clients in spa.” (Benjamin).
