ReVive Skincare Masterclass Part 2/3 Ft. Adeela Crown, Celebrity & Skin Facialist, Podcast Summary
This week Ekta brings us episode two of our ReVive Skincare Masterclass with its Founder Dr. Gregory Bays Brown, featuring Celebrity Skin Facialist Adeela Crown. Often referred to as “The Skin Engineer,” Dr. Brown and Adeela discuss the brilliance of the ReVive Skincare line along with deconstructing the fundamental importance of skin health and products, even aging properties!
“Aging obviously is multilateral, but there is more to it than simple lines, wrinkles, and sags that we could all point to and know what they are. For example, volume loss is an important part, and for many people, by the time they are in their late 20s, some of their first signs of aging are fine lines around their lids because of their thin skin, which is animated a lot. But also get enough volume loss there that you see the demarcation between the lower lid and the cheek in the trough or the orbital rim. So, it is a more esoteric form of aging, meaning volume loss, but certainly, it is something that we as plastic surgeons are very attuned to.” (Brown).
Adeela gives feedback on the signs of aging but also expresses concern with the lack of understanding of the products consumers choose for their skin. Even more so for young people, to find products that are right for them now rather than later. Also, it is essential to understand ingredients, what products are meant to do and how to effectively use them in a skin regimen.
“Well, I agree; volume loss is a major contributor. But then I also find that often, as a practitioner, I find that there’s a lack of understanding in choosing the correct skincare from an early age or prescribing the right kind of regimen to care for yourself because we are bombarded with so much information. Most of that information is misleading and confusing. So many people are using the wrong kind of products or actives, or they are misusing actives and not quite understanding ingredients which give you that soft, supple glow from an early age. So, understanding skin health is paramount from an early age.” (Crown).
Dr. Brown and Adeela go hand and hand as he understands the skin from a surgical point of view Adeela understands the dermatology behind ReVive to produce results that will show years to come. They want consumers to realize that the changes in our diet and even the climate affect how our skin and body age.
“A Beauty Editor asked me a few months ago what I thought the future of skincare was and all that, and I’m sure she expected a sexy answer. But I said protection because we’re living in a time where all you have to do is pick up the newspaper and look out the window; the climate is quickly changing, and with it is gonna come a lot more assault on the skin and the body.” (Brown).
