Sarah Akram, Board Licensed Esthetician, Skincare Specialist, and Founder of Sarah Akram Skincare, Podcast Summary
This week Ekta talks to Sarah Akram, Board Licensed Master Esthetician and a Skincare Specialist. Akram knew from a young age she wanted to pursue skincare, she started out loving makeup and all things glam and beauty but as she got older, she got more into skincare. She learned from an Esthetician who did facials and such in the hair salon she was a receptionist for in High School, and knew she was so passionate about that line of work.
“It’s something I accidentally fell into, I was always into makeup and skincare growing up. It was something I felt like I had a knack for. Especially makeup, I was pretty skilled at it naturally from a young age, so I think it started with makeup. As I was getting older, it slowly transitioned into skincare.” (Akram).
She went to College for Economics and ended up also going to Esthetician School while she studied, she knew that was the path for her.
“A good place to start, instead of playing the guessing game of what products should I be using on my skin? I think it’s good to find a reputable skin care specialist or expert with a good reputation in your community. In the long run that’s a wise investment because the expert can help you curate a routine that’s good with your skin.” (Akram).
