Veronica Alanis, Senior Design Engineer and Senior Product Developer of DYSON Podcast Summary
This week Ekta talks to the Senior Design Engineer/Senior Product Developer of DYSON, Veronica Alanis. Veronica talks about growing up in Mexico and earning her masters in Scotland in Industrial and Sustainable Design. Her engineering techniques are very heavily influenced by product design and sustainability. She joined the DYSON team in 2016 back when they were just a vacuum cleaner company, she had no clue that they were developing a hair dryer, but soon hopped onto the team of developers that created what we know as the DYSON Supersonic.
DYSON’s presence around the world has been expanded and continues to expand since Veronica joined. DYSON has transformed it’s brand from a vacuum cleaner company to a full-blown technology empire in a short amount of time, Veronica touches upon the knowledge of all the air-flow science that goes into these products and why they work as well as they do. Veronica also was a part of a big team creating these products, The Airwrap included, “About 300 engineers that worked on Airwrap overall the course of four years” (Veronica Alanis).
